Summoning tree

The summoning tree is the point of creation to summon the creatures Salamander, Undine, Sylph, Golem who are based upon the four classical elements. These points of creation also purify the air that is tainted with the pollution known as Arcana. The darker the arcana  the more and higher concentrated amount of Radiance needed to purify said Arcana.

Background Aptience Archives

This is the background for the Aptience archives locked deep undergorund hiding their deepest darkest secrets. I chose to follow the colour themes of charcoal grey and red the colours that represent Aptience and show the mood and setting of this level

Aria's Environmental message

What I am trying to convey through Arience Aria is the understanding on energy consumption and use of material resources.

I have done this by creating the illusion of in the undertones of my game tricking the player into believing that it is technically only a game.

In Arience Aria is a game where you play as the protagonist Ark and Babylon who are trying to revive the science and rule of Eterience and purify the world around them from the scourge of Aptience and Arcana.

They do this by creating points of summoning which are trees created from both Eterience and Arience and with these point of Summoning (creation points) you are able to summon fantastic creation of the classical elements but these creations cost things to be made as the rule of Arience (Alchemy) is that of equivalent exchange an equal or greater mass of material substance.

This is done by Babylon who consumes the left over remnants of Arcana and Aptience and converts them into Radiance allowing you to create creations. This follows the message of reusing what has been thrown away or broken or uncessary.

The Gameplay.

Arience Aria is a game that is compiled of platformer and a puzzle that is related to the use and combination of classical elements. By using the combination of elements you are able to create an unlimited puzzles and levels while also combining the use of elements and such you are able to make things more difficult and easier while also adding other paths.

This then also relates to the story and the psychological effect it has on both the player and the protagonists.

Though when creating levels and puzzles you have to be careful as to not make the puzzles to difficult early on or not being to see what is needed to be done as this could confuse the player, but also to not make it easier later.

So I had decided to separate my game into three parts one relating to each of the three sciences and each of these parts will consist of 10 levels but there are more than that as three are multiple different passages through each part and can or will change the story...

Captured

They are spirits of pure energy that have been contorted by the impure science of Aptience and each of these captured are named after a Sword.

They are a combination of using left over Arcana and combining it with the twisted mechanisms of Aptience...

though there are levels of captured.

Twisted:
forms of captured or better known as abominations and are made of  a higher level of Arcana then the normal captured. They are the deepest darkest depths of society and most were eradicated by Eterience before it fell as they were difficult to control even with Aptiences power.

Melody:
forms of captured or better known as Vanguard and are a low concentration of Arcana and Aptience so their abilities are limited some of their names are lesser blades like Estoc and Espada.

Harmony:
forms of captured or better know as Sovereign and a high concentration of Arcana and Aptience and are the perfect tool to be controlled by the lords of aptience.

Creation Concepts

Creations:

Golem:

He is a creation made from the base element earth and is from a lengend an earth elemental. In Jewish folklore, a golem (/ˈɡləm/ goh-ləmHebrewגולם‎) is an animated anthropomorphic being, created entirely from inanimate matter. The word was used to mean an amorphous, unformed material in Psalms and medieval writing.
Abilities:

1.       Gravity – Lifting blocks and obstacles
2.       Bridge – Filling the gap allowing both the player to pass over.
3.       Shatter – Destroying Obstacles in his path.

Undine:

She is a creation made from the base element water and her form is taken from the legend of a German tale known as Sleep of Ondine, Ondine is a water nymph. She was very beautiful and, like all nymphs, immortal. However, should she fall in love with a mortal man and bear his child, she would lose her immortality.
Ondine eventually falls in love with a handsome knight, Sir Lawrence, and they are married. When they exchange vows, Lawrence vows to forever love and be faithful to her. A year after their marriage, Ondine gives birth to his child. From that moment on she begins to age. As Ondine’s physical attractiveness diminishes, Lawrence loses interest in his wife.
One afternoon, Ondine is walking near the stables when she hears the familiar snoring of her husband. When she enters the stable, she sees Lawrence lying in the arms of another woman. Ondine points her finger at him, which he feels as if kicked, waking him up with surprise. Ondine curses him, stating, "You swore faithfulness to me with every waking breath, and I accepted your oath. So be it. As long as you are awake, you shall have your breath, but should you ever fall asleep, then that breath will be taken from you and you will die!"
Abilities:

1.       Torrent – Flooding the area to displace blocks or obstacles.
2.       Tundra – Freezing water or the block to gain access to other areas.
3.       Disperse – Firing heated water to damage the enemy or evaporate an obstacle.

Salamander:

He is a creation made from the base element Fire and his form is taken from the legend of the salamnader which is an fire elemental.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) wrote the following on the salamander: "This has no digestive organs, and gets no food but from the fire, in which it constantly renews its scaly skin. The salamander, which renews its scaly skin in the fire,—for virtue." Later, Paracelsus (1493–1541) suggested that the salamander was the elemental of fire, which has had substantial influence on the role of salamanders in the occult.Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) wrote the following on the salamander: "This has no digestive organs, and gets no food but from the fire, in which it constantly renews its scaly skin. 1.       Eruption – Allows the payer instantly melt the obstacle that is in their path.
2.       Light – Illuminating the surrounding area to allow sight.
3.       Scorch – Burning the block or enemy that stops the player from continuing.

Sylph:

She is a creation made from the base element Air and her form is taken from the legend of a air elemenal.  Because of their association with the ballet La Sylphide, where sylphs are identified with fairies and the medieval legends of fairyland, as well as a confusion with other "airy spirits" (e.g., inWilliam Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream), a slender girl may be referred to as a sylph.
Sylph has passed into general language as a term for minor spirits, elementals, or faeries of the air. Fantasy authors will sometimes employ sylphs in their fiction. Sylphs could create giant artistic clouds in the skies with their airy wings

1.       Float – Suspends the block or obstacle in the player’s path.
2.       Gale – creating gale force winds to push the block or enemy back.

3.       Sever – Cutting the enemy or block apart.

Arience Background 1

Ark

Ark:

He is the main protagonist and one of the few left over from the war between Arience and Aptience after the fall of Eterience. He is strangely up beat for his character.

The Sciences of Aria

+++Arience+++

This is a name for Alchemy (Archaic Science) and is based upon the law of equivalent exchange by taking the equal amount of mass and energy required to create a new creation. This science is all that is left over after the great war of magic and had been allowed to continue as Eterience did not see the need to destroy ancient traditions of the past, but that was only until its downfall and Aptience had taken over.

+++Eterience+++

This was a form of sustainable science that came after the war of magic and helped to rebuild society and the environments itself. Its main source of energy was Radiance a form of energy that created more then it consumed, but fell in the war against Aptience.

+++Aptience+++

This a science that is fuel on only the source of greater power and not caring what carnage and abominations that it leaves behind. This is the now ruling power within the government, and won against the empire of Eterience and is trying to destroy what is left of Arience to make it the supreme science within the world.
